On April 22, 1997 the first meeting of the Accreditation Board of the Russian Ministry of Education was held. The cases of 27 HEIs prepared by the Centre of Accreditation were considered.

Since then the organizational form of the Centre of Accreditation has changed, but the staff always celebrates this day – the Accreditor Day.

For the last 2 years the world has dramatically changed unlike our traditions. On April 20, 2023 NCPA held a videoconference “Independent Accreditation. The Next Step”.

The following topics were discussed:

1) Is international accreditation alive?

2) Is it necessary to have a license for international accreditation?

3) Pivot to the East. 

4) International accreditation and admission of foreign students.

5) Evidence-based public accreditation.

6) There are more than 100 accreditation institutions in Russia. Which agencies should we trust and why?

Participants: representatives of scientific and academic community, business and non-profit organizations, experts in education and independent evaluation.
