On the meeting of July 20, 2019 the ENQA Board reconfirmed NCPA’s full member status for the following five years.

"The Board concluded that NCPA is in compliance with the Standards and Guidelines for Quality Assurance in the European Higher Education Area (ESG 2015) and thus fulfils the membership criteria. Overall, the Board commends the efforts NCPA is making to promote European standards of external quality assurance to the higher education sector in Russia," - Christoph Grolimund, ENQA President, noted in the accompanying letter.

Full membership of the Russian accreditation agency in the European Association for Quality Assurance promotes integration of the Russian higher education system in the European Higher Education Area, gives Russian higher education institutions the possibility to undergo internationally recognized accreditation in the Russian agency, and promotes their positioning in the European and World Education Area.

The full member status of the Russian accreditation agency in the European organization is a mechanism of "soft power" that improves competitiveness and promotes internationalization and export capacity of Russian higher education. Recognition of quality of agency’s activities is, first of all, recognition of quality of the accredited study programmes and higher education institutions at the international level.

The European Association for Quality Assurance in Higher Education (ENQA) was founded in 2000 by the decision of education ministers of the European countries to develop cooperation in evaluation of education quality. Nowadays ENQA comprises 51 full members – accreditation agencies from 29 countries.
