In 2024 the National Centre for Public Accreditation (NCPA, Russia) and the Independent Agency for Accreditation and Rating (IAAR, Kazakhstan) launched a joint international public accreditation against standards of the World Federation for Medical Education (WFME).
On May 21-23, 2024 a joint international external review of educational programmes «General Medicine» (31.05.01), «Pediatrics» (31.05.02, 31.08.19), «Dentistry» (31.05.03), «Orthopedic Dentistry» (31.08.75), «Anesthesiology-Reanimatology» (31.08.02) delivered by Ural State Medical University was held. The review was jointly conducted with the Independent Agency for Accreditation and Rating (Kazakhstan).

The external review panel also involved representatives of leading Kazakh and Russian universities, employers and students:

During three days of work 12 meetings with the University administration, heads of subdivisions responsible for programmes delivery, teachers, students, postgraduate students, graduates and employers were held. The experts visited 10 clinical facilities, departments, and classrooms and witnessed the use of АРМ and IT technologies at hospital units.
Reports and recommendations on further development of the programmes based on the results of the external review will be prepared. Decision about joint international public accreditation of the educational programmes will be made at the meeting of the NCPA National Accreditation Board and the IAAR Board.
Medical HEIs that received joint international accreditation of educational programmes afford their graduates an opportunity to apply to ECFMG certification and to be recognized in their country and abroad. Among other things, such educational programmes are listed in the international database of accreditation results of the Asia-Pacific Quality Register - DAQAR.
