SQAA
SQAA was established in 2010 as a non-governmental direct budget user and public authorisation holder by a Resolution on the Founding of the Slovenian Quality Assurance Agency for Higher Education (SQAA).
SQAA is a full member of the European Consortium for Accreditation (ECA Consortium), the Central and Eastern European Network of Quality Assurance Agencies in Higher Education (CEENQA), the International Network for Quality Assurance Agencies in Higher Education (INQAAHE).

 

SQAA Mission
The Agency provides for development and operation of the quality assurance system in the Slovenian higher education area. The Agency shall, with its system of quality assurance development, contribute to the higher education in Slovenia being of high quality in terms of education and research, internationally recognizable, competitive and equally integrated in the global higher education area.

 

SQAA Objectives:
- managing the quality assurance system in higher and vocational education;
- setting procedures and criteria for external evaluations and accreditations and setting other criteria and rules;
- conducting external evaluations of higher education institutions, study programmes and vocational colleges;
- giving consent to changing higher education institutions and study programmes;
- establishing and updating an experts’ register;
- cooperating with higher education institutions and vocational colleges, providing them with advice and promoting self-evaluations.
