International forum "Prospects of postgraduate education in agricultural universities of Russia and Kazakhstan"

On December 10th, 2021 NCPA participated in the international forum "Prospects of postgraduate education in agricultural universities of Russia and Kazakhstan on the way to integration into the international scientific community" organized in the framework of ERASMUS+ project “Enhancement of postgraduate studies in the sphere of sustainable agriculture and future farming systems” (SAGRIS).

Representatives from 5 partner universities of the European Union, 4 Russian and 4 Kazakh universities, as well as accreditation agencies in Russia and Kazakhstan were brought together to discuss the urgent issues of the quality of postgraduate education in partner-countries. The forum was held in a hybrid format: participants from Russian universities met in person at Stavropol State Agrarian University, participants from Kazakh universities gathered at Kazakh Agro-Technical University named after S.Seifullin, European partners and representatives of accreditation agencies of Russia and Kazakhstan joined the international event online.

During the forum sessions the partners discussed the issues related to improving the quality and competitiveness of postgraduate programmes at agricultural universities, focused on good practices, challenges and prospects of postgraduate education.

Prof. Galina Motova, NCPA’s Deputy director, made a presentation entitled “External quality evaluation of education as a mechanism of quality assurance and competitiveness of educational programmes at agricultural universities” with thematic analysis of the results of public accreditation carried out by NCPA at agricultural universities.

The project addresses the demand of educating doctoral students on high quality and international standards to increase knowledge based solutions for sustainable agriculture and future farming systems – a topic of national, cross-regional and international relevance.
