General Assembly of the European Association for Quality Assurance in Higher Education (ENQA)

The spring General Assembly of the European Association for Quality Assurance in Higher Education (ENQA) was held on 22 April 2021. The Association elected new Board members and a new President. Douglas Blackstock, the newly elected President, has been on the Board of ENQA since 2019, and is the Chief Executive Officer of the Higher Education Quality Assurance Agency (QAA) in the UK. The participants of the Assembly expressed their gratitude to the former President of ENQA, Christoph Grolimund, who made a great contribution to the development of the Association during his tenure.

In addition to the procedural issues, which included financial reporting, the election of new Board members, the President and Vice-Presidents, the meeting was presented with an updated Guidelines for ENQA Agency Reviews and a proposal for targeted external evaluation of QA agencies for consideration.

The next General Assembly is scheduled for October 2021 and will be held in Valladolid, Spain.

The event, held in an online format, was attended by 109 participants from 49 countries of the European Higher Education Area.

NCPA was represented by the Deputy Director G. N. Motova.
