ЕNQA General Assembly 2019

On October 17, 2019 the 10th General Assembly of the European Association for Quality Assurance in Higher Education, ENQA was held in Yerevan, Armenia. It was organized by ENQA together with the National Centre for Professional Education Quality Assurance Foundation (ANQA).

More than 100 delegates participated in the Assembly. Russia was represented by 4 agencies – National Centre for Public Accreditation represented by V. Navodnov, Director, and G. Motova, Deputy Director, NAA, AKKORK and Russian Register.

Christoph Grolimund, ENQA President, Arayik Harutyunyan, RA Minister of Education, Science, Culture and Sport, and Ruben Topchyan, ANQA Director, opened the first day of the General Assembly with a welcome speech.

The panel discussion «The added value of European cooperation in quality assurance – regional perspectives» was held on the first day. The Russian Federation was represented by G. Motova, NCPA Deputy Director. She presented her view on the state of cooperation of Russian accreditation agencies with European partners.

10 poster sessions on best practices of ENQA full members were held:

  • • Main challenges in the evaluation of e-learning programmes – seeking a common understanding with stakeholders (ACSUCYL, Spain);
  • • A methodology for student involvement in the visitation process (QANU and Intercity Student Council, ISO, The Netherlands);
  • • A thematic analysis of institutional review reports through the lens of ESG (Quality Board for Icelandic Higher Education);
  • • EUC Dades: a portal of quality assurance indicators (AQU Catalunya, Spain);
  • • Quality of assessment experts' reports – a challenge for the internal quality assurance system? (AIC);
  • • Stakeholder engagement and collaboration as a strategic priority for agencies (QQI, Ireland), etc.

Besides, Orla Lynch, Adviser Higher Education Quality, Department of Education and Skills, Ireland spoke on the topic «Trends in Quality Audit».

The report of Achim Hopbach, Director, Agency for Quality Assurance and Accreditation Austria (AQ Austria) on the topic «Reflecting on the future of quality assurance» was also of particular interest.
