External Review of the clusters of the educational programmes was held on October 5-7, 2015 in Immanuel Kant Baltic Federal University.

During three days of the site-visit, 55 experts from China, Belarus, Serbia, Czech Republic, Latvia, Estonia, Lithuania and Russia, assessed the quality of 25 educational programmes within 10 clusters:

- "Bioengineering and Bioinformatics" (06.05.01), "Biology" (06.03.01, 06.04.01);

- "Geography" (05.03.02, 05.04.02);

- "History" (46.03.01, 46.04.01), "Philosophy" (47.03.01, 47.04.01);

- "General Medicine" (31.05.01);

- "Applied Mathematics and Information Technology" (01.03.02, 01.04.02), "Mathematical Support and Network Administration" (02.03.03);

- "Psychology" (37.03.01);

- "Sociology" (39.03.01), "Journalism" (42.03.02, 42.04.02), "Advertising and Public Relations" (42.03.01);

- "Tourism" (43.04.02), "Hospitality Industry" (43.03.03);

- "Physics" (03.04.02), "Radiophysics" (03.03.03, 03.04.03);

- "Philology" (45.03.01, 45.04.01).

Each cluster of the programmes was evaluated by a separate Review Panel, consisted of at least 5 members: two representatives of foreign academic community, one representative of the leading Russian universities, one representative of employers and one student from another HEI. Thus, the evaluation of the programmes was not only a formal procedure; it covered the content of the study programmes. The Review was aimed at identifying the extent to which the education in the programmes meets the expectations of employers and students, whether it is up-to-date and whether it allows the graduates to continue their self-education and to stay competitive at the labour market.
