Public hearings on the topic “Professional and public accreditation of engineering educational programs” were held on May, 28 2013 in Saint-Petersburg, Russia.

The event was hosted by Saint-Petersburg State Polytechnical University. The Association of Engineering Education of Russia, Saint-Petersburg State Polytechnical University and Tomsk Polytechnic University organized the public hearings.  

The objective of the event was to draw the attention of the professional community to professional and public accreditation of engineering educational porgrammes as the part of quality assurance systems for engineering education.  

The legislative aspects, problems and development prospects of the internationally recognized national system of professional and public accreditation in Russia were discussed within the public hearings. Representatives of the Ministry of Education and Science of the Russian Federation, members of the Federation Council, deputies of the Russian State Duma, heads of HEIs delivering engineering educational programmes, representatives of employers and educational community were invited to take part in the event.
