INQAAHE Conference - 2013

The 2013 Biennial Conference took place in Taipei, Taiwan, from the 8th till the 11th of April, 2013. The Higher Education Evaluation and Accreditation Council of Taiwan (HEEACT) was the host of this international conference.

The conference theme was Managing Diversity: Sustainable quality assurance processes. There were related subthemes:
1. The QA of trans-border education: from quality providers to quality assured provision
2. Innovative approaches to external QA in tertiary education: not a single approach towards excellence
3. Impact of QA and the effects of external and internal QA: regional perspectives to a shared issue
4. National qualifications frameworks and their links to QA (including involvement of stakeholders)

193 delegates from 69 countries took an active part in the work of the conference. The National Centre for Public Accreditation – NCPA, Russia, was represented at the INQAAHE-2013 by Director Prof. Vladimir Navodnov and Deputy Director Prof. Galina Motova.

The first day of the conference was opened with welcome speech of INQAAHE President Maria Jose Lemaitre, welcome remark of the Chairman of HEEACT Board Jei-Cheng Cheng, Vice President of Republic of China Den-Yih Wu and Political Deputy Minister of Education Pi-Twan Huang.

NCPA Deputy Director Prof. Galina Motova made the presentation “Integrating innovation and diversity into external quality assurance procedures: the Russian Experience” devoted to challenges of institutional and program accreditation in Russia, open international Internet-olympiad as a quality assurance tool for higher education, the project – “The Best Educational Programmes of Innovative Russia”.

The participants showed a particular interest in the presentations dedicated to the following topics:
• innovative approaches to external QA in tertiary education: not a single approach towards excellence
• the QA of Trans-Border Education: from quality providers to quality assured provision
• impact of QA and the effects of external and nternal QA: regional perspectives to a shared issue
• learning outcomes and asssessment index as elaboration of the ESG principles on the Quality Assurance of Assessment
• national qualifications frameworks and their links to QA (including involvement of stakeholders)
