Review of NEFU programmes

On 19 to 21 February, 2013 National Centre for Public Accreditation carried out external evaluation of the study programmes "General Medicine", “Applied Mathematics and Informatics”, “Information Technology (Fundemental Informatics and Information Technology)” delivered by the North-Eastern Federal University named after M.K. Ammosov (NEFU) (Yakutsk, Russia).

The external review panel included leading Russian and foreign experts, representatives of student and professional practice communities.

The panels held meetings with the University Administration and leaders of units, responsible for the delivery of the study programmes under review, as well as with undergraduate and post-graduate students, alumni and employers.

During the Site Visit the Review Panel was shown the university, its classrooms, library, the centre for information technologies, where there is one of the most powerful supercomputers in Russia, as well as the small computer academy. Also the Review Panel visited the clinic which is the basis for NEFU students’ field internship.

The outcomes of the external review and recommendations for further enhancement of quality of the study programme will be presented in expert reports, and the final accreditation decision will be made by NCPA National Accreditation Board in March 2013.
