The III International Educational Forum Altai–Asia 2016: Eurasian Educational Space – New Challenges and Best Practices took place on September 22-23, 2016 in Barnaul.

The Forum was supported by the Ministry of Education and Science of the Russian Federation, Shanghai Cooperation Organization University, Eurasian Universities Association, BRICS Network University, Russian Classical Universities Association, the Asian Universities Association, Federal Agency for the Commonwealth of Independent States, Administration of Altai region, National Research University "Higher School of Economics", Lomonosov Moscow State University and journal "Accreditation in Education".

Over 150 experts in the sphere of higher education representing 11 countries and 26 constituent territories of the Russian Federation from over 50 higher educational institutions took part in the work of the Forum.

The participants had an opportunity to participate in plenary meetings, discussion platforms, project sessions, webinars, kick off meetings, round tables and foresight sessions devoted to the following topics:
- Global competition and universities’ development strategies in the Eurasian educational space: new challenges and optimal solutions.
- The processes of universities’ integration and unification: Russian and international experience.
- International standards and modern approaches to the guarantee of education quality in the Eurasian cooperation.
- Practice-oriented educational activities of a modern university: new models and future prospects.
- Innovative educational management: Russian and Asian context.
- Experience of implementation of joint Russian-Chinese educational projects.
- Electronic education in the frameworks of lifelong learning: new challenges and best practices.
- University-2035. "How to make the university ideal" and etc.

The National Centre for Public Accreditation was represented by deputy director Galina Motova. She acted as a moderator of the session "International standards and modern approaches to the quality assurance of education in the Eurasian educational space" and presented a paper at a plenary meeting of the Forum "International standards and modern approaches to assessment of education quality".

The Forum proved its worth as an ongoing discussion platform of actual topics of education development and mutual transmission of the best educational experience in the Eurasian educational space.
